Our Story | A Legacy of Trust and Expertise

Kirkland Capital Group was founded on more than two decades of mutual trust, shared values, and complementary expertise. Chris Carsley and Brock Freeman first met in a Seattle martial arts dojo in the 1990s and stayed connected while building their individual careers and expertise in finance and real estate. Their enduring relationship evolved into a business partnership in 2019—one built to solve a real and persistent market inefficiency.

Together, they identified an underserved yet promising opportunity: micro-balance commercial real estate loans. This niche, largely overlooked by traditional lenders, offers attractive yields and principal preservation—especially when approached with disciplined underwriting and active risk management.

Brock Freeman

Chris brings a wealth of experience in due diligence, fund operations and asset management, while Brock contributes deep expertise in operations, technology, and real estate debt underwriting. This combination allows Kirkland Capital Group to identify, underwrite, and manage private debt opportunities with a level of professionalism and efficiency rarely seen in this space.

The Kirkland Income Fund was established in January 2020, and the first loan was funded in April of that year. The firm has remained grounded in a commitment to transparency and capital preservation, delivering consistent positive monthly returns and distributions to investors since inception. Kirkland Capital Group isn’t just a financial partnership—it’s a long-term platform built to serve investors with the same trust, diligence, and care that built the firm itself.
