Gilberto Fonte serves as Internal Counsel at Kirkland Capital Group, where he supports the firm's servicing, workout, and asset management operations across its commercial real estate lending platform. He advises on legal, regulatory, and operational matters involving loan servicing, distressed assets, borrower resolutions, foreclosure-related processes, and portfolio management initiatives. His role focuses on developing practical solutions that balance legal risk, operational efficiency, and business objectives while supporting the firm's investment and asset recovery strategies.
Prior to joining Kirkland Capital Group, Gilberto built more than a decade of experience in mortgage servicing and financial services. As a licensed attorney and compliance professional, he provided legal research, regulatory guidance, and policy support on matters affecting default servicing, loan administration, and servicing operations. His experience allows him to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into practical solutions that support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
Gilberto earned his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Florida. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, maintaining an active lifestyle through running and fitness, and staying informed on history, geopolitics, and macroeconomic trends that influence financial markets and real estate.
